YASC Executive Director since 2012. Gaël has more than 25 years of experience working in sports. After completing studies in Economics (La Sorbonne – Paris), Inuit language & culture (INALCO – Paris), Gaël obtained a Sport Educator professional degree. He specialized in coaching and officiating in Aikido, Arctic Sports and Archery. A Master Coach Developer in Archery, Gaël has been living in the Yukon since 2002 and has attended several NAIG and AWG games.

Rose is Inuvialuit, born in Inuvik Northwest Territories, but grew up in Whitehorse Yukon moving here and calling it home since she was 4 years old. Rose has a Bachelor of Management for Indigenous Nations and Organizations through Athabasca University. Her profile includes Major Games management such as AWG, NAIG, NYO, and Yukon Arctic Sports Inter-School Championships and Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC).

Experienced in administrative procedures and working in a customer service focused environment while working with YG in the Corporate Human Resources & Diversity Services Department. Heidi also has a background in finance with a keen knowledge of administration and day to day accounting practices since working as an Accounts Payable Clerk for 4 years. After completing high school, Heidi went to College where she took the Business Administration Program. Born and raised in the Yukon, Heidi is a Teslin Tlingit Council First Nation member.

Eric grew up in Watson Lake in the Yukon and is a  member of the Kaska First Nation. His family’s traditional use area is in Northern BC. Eric enjoyed playing most sports from a young age and carried that passion on through his teen years into adulthood. Before moving to Alberta for college, Eric represented Team Yukon in 2015 for track and field at the Western Canada summers games. Eric spent two years in a town called Olds taking sports management and playing soccer/futsal (ACAC). He returned to the Yukon in 2019 and he's now teaching Arctic Sports among other sports.

Sheila Madahbee / Archery Instructor

Sheila is Odawa/Ojibwe from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, Manitoulin Island, in Ontario.  Her education is in Forestry (BSF from Michigan Technological University) and work experience is in Natural Resources.  She learned how to shoot taking a Phys-ed class at Michigan Tech.  While a member of the Algoma Rod & Gun Club in Sault Ste Marie, she was convinced to “assist” teaching archery to youth at events and in classes.

Back home in Manitoulin, she and her husband Raymond began offering archery classes to local community programs and also coached an archery team at Wikwemikong High School for 7 yrs.

She is an accomplished archer, winning gold at NAIG in 2008 (in the final games that included adult categories).  Competing for Team Canada at the World 3D Archery Championships in 2009 in Italy and finishing in 8th place and again in 2012 at the World Archery Indoor Championships finishing in Rank 17th. She also competed at the U.S. Indoor National Championships in 2011, winning the Female Bowhunter Freestyle category.
